With weddings of all sizes finally back on in the UK, it is time to start planning what bridal hair and makeup Essex wedding look you want to go for.

I am a firm believer that your bridal hair and makeup should complement your unique beauty, rather than sticking to trends for trends’ sake. That said, a good makeup artist should be able to use trends to influence your look while remaining true to a style that suits you. Knowing what the different beauty trends are means you can choose a makeup look or hair style that you love!

No makeup, makeup

Natural makeup which accentuates the bride’s features has always been a popular look but this year we will see the trend go even further with a truly no makeup, makeup look. Think minimal brows and a touch of highlighter. This trend is all about embracing your natural beauty and maintaining a fresh faced look.

Pink and red lips

We typically see brides avoiding colour on their lips in favour of natural, nude colours but this year we will see many brides swap out their eye makeup for reds and pinks, for a bold and fresh look.

Pops of peach

Whether it is peach blusher, peach lips (Sophia Richie), or peach eyeshadow, peach is a beauty trend we will see in weddings of all kinds in 2023. It is a really versatile colour which suits a multitude of brides, and the colour can be used sparsely for a minimal look, or layered up for those who want something bolder.

Tousled texture

During lockdown, brides-to-be ditched the heat and let their natural hair loose, resulting in healthier, longer hair for many. Embracing your natural curls and waves, with a little tweaking here and there, is a big trend for 2023. It is a style which is easy to create and maintain, and it looks effortlessly chic.

Half up, half down

Half up, half down do’s have been popular now for years, and this style is not going anywhere! This year’s take on the timeless trend involves loose, beachy waves, less volume and more texture. If you have thin hair but want to rock this look, clip in or tape hair extensions are a great way to add volume without damaging your hair.

Hollywood glamour

For some brides, the natural look is too similar to their everyday style. I have seen an increase in demand for Hollywood glamour hairstyles – think smooth, sleek, big curls that belong on the red carpet. This kind of style looks stunning with a sheer head veil as much as it does by itself.

Hair accessories

From veils to headbands, through to smaller accessories like flowers and pearls, accessorising your hair will be big this year. After more than a year of lockdowns and cancelled weddings, accessorising is a chance for brides to finally shine in the biggest way.
